The government relations efforts of KAECare a team effort. As KAECDirector of Community and Government Affairs, Chase Criglerworks closely with the government relations leaders from the three generation and transmission entities which serve Kentucky electric cooperatives.

* Virginia Gray is Government Relations Manager at the Tennessee Valley Authority.
The team continues to monitor ongoing discussions and public debate regarding how state leaders will address Kentucky’s mounting pension crisis.
To the extent that any solutions may affect electric cooperatives’ ability to deliver safe, reliable and affordable electricity to their members, the team stands ready to educate legislators and advocate for the best interests of co-op members.
Governor Matt Bevin is still expected to call a special session of the General Assembly sometime this Fall, to deal specifically with changes to the pension systems. Another special session, perhaps after the 2018 regular session, would likely deal with tax reform.
