Dr. James Sills, vice chairman of the Meade County RECC Board of Directors, retired Dec. 31 after 41 years of service. Sills joined the board in 1984 and represented Breckinridge County’s 4th District. He served on the Big Rivers Board from 1995 to 2023 and became Meade County RECC vice chairman in 2001. The board appointed Earl Wright to fulfill the remainder of Sills’ term and elected Paul Edd Butler as vice chairman.

“I will miss working alongside Dr. Sills, as he has been a trusted advocate and supporter of our cooperative’s beliefs and values,” says Meade County President & CEO Marty Litrell. “His leadership, knowledge, and professionalism have been instrumental in strengthening our collaboration with colleagues in our industry. His commitment and guidance will leave a positive legacy that will benefit our cooperative for many years going forward.”
